Psalm 28:7 in the Bible

The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.

Psalm 28:7 · World English Bible
For a child

What this verse means

A shield guards you, and strength holds you up — this verse says God is both. When a child feels small or afraid, they can remember that the biggest, strongest Helper there is stands around them like a shield. And the verse ends happily: "I am helped." Trusting God is never a mistake.

When to use it: A reassuring page for a fearful or overwhelmed moment, or a lesson on God being both our protector and our helper.

Coloring and memory-verse tips

  • Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors — coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
  • Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
  • Add the child's name and today's date in a corner, then hang the finished page where they'll see the verse each day.
  • Print on cardstock if you plan to use markers, so the colors stay bright and the ink doesn't bleed through.
