Introduction

Childhood Bible Stories (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the childhoodbiblestories.com website. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

This site is operated by Kindred Works LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, which is responsible for information collected through this site. Questions: privacy@childhoodbiblestories.com.

What we collect

Visiting. When you visit, our hosting and analytics tools record standard technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you got here. We use it to run the site and understand how it is used.

Free lessons and the newsletter. When you ask for a free lesson or subscribe, we collect your email address and, if you tell us, whether you are a parent or a teacher.

Personalized books. To make a book you give us the child’s first name, the look you choose for their character (hair, skin tone, glasses and similar choices), a dedication, and, if you choose to add one, a photo for the dedication page. At checkout our payment provider collects your name, email address, shipping address, phone number and payment details. Your card details go straight to the payment provider and never touch our servers.

Ratings and reviews. If you rate a book or lesson through a link in one of our emails, or reply with your thoughts or a photo, we keep what you send so we can act on it.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

• make, print and ship your order, and send you the emails about it (confirmation, shipping and tracking, and a check-in after the book arrives);
• send the free lessons, printables and newsletter you asked for;
• remind you about an order you started but did not finish, which may include a discount, if you gave us your email address at checkout and ticked the box to hear from us;
• tell customers and subscribers about new books, lessons and offers;
• show ratings and, when you reply to tell us it is OK, your words or photo, only in the ways you allow (first name and last initial, or “a parent”; see Reviews, photos and feedback below);
• answer your messages, fix problems with an order and prevent fraud or abuse;
• understand how the site is used and improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use children’s names or photos for anything other than the book you ordered.

Email: what we send and how to stop it

Order emails are sent to everyone who buys, because they are about your purchase. Marketing emails, such as reminders about an unfinished order, new book announcements and offers, are sent only to people who subscribed, bought from us or ticked the box at checkout, and who have not opted out. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately, and you can also email hello@childhoodbiblestories.com to be removed from all marketing at any time.

Our emails are delivered by Resend and may contain a small tracking image and tracked links so we can see whether an email was opened or clicked. Blocking images in your email app prevents open tracking.

Children’s privacy and photos

This site is for parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The child’s name, character choices and photo come from the adult placing the order, who confirms they have the right to share them.

A photo you upload is checked to make sure it is a usable image, resized and placed on the dedication page of the printed book. It is not used to generate the illustrations, is not shared with anyone other than the printer, and is never used to train any model. We keep order files, including the photo, so we can reprint or replace a copy if something goes wrong; you can ask us to delete them at any time after your book arrives by emailing hello@childhoodbiblestories.com.

If you believe a child has given us information without a parent’s permission, email us and we will delete it.

Reviews, photos and feedback you send us

After you buy a book or lesson pack, or download a free lesson or printable, we may email you a link to a private review page. Only adults can use it: the link is tied to the email address of the adult who bought or downloaded. Everything on it is optional.

What we collect and why

• Your star rating, review, optional photo, first name and last initial, and what you tell us privately would make it better. We use these to improve what we make, to follow up if something went wrong and, only where you allow it, to show your review or photo.
• A record of your choices: the boxes you ticked, the exact wording you agreed to, the time, your browser type and a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address. We keep this as proof of what you allowed.
• We never ask for a child’s name, age or school. Please don’t include them.

How we use it

• Your review is shown only if you tick the box that allows it, with your first name and last initial or as “a parent”, on childhoodbiblestories.com, in our emails and on our social media. That permission is permanent, so shared review text can’t be removed later.
• Your photo is shown only if you tick the box that allows it, and then only on childhoodbiblestories.com; in our emails or social media only if you tick that separate box. Never in paid ads.
• What you tell us privately is read by our team only and never published.
• We never sell your submissions or share them with anyone except the companies that host and store our site and data for us.

Photos of children

• Location and camera details are removed from every photo when you upload it. Originals are stored privately and only our team can see them.
• We look at every photo before anything is shown. We blur or crop any child’s name (our books print it on the cover and pages), house numbers, school names or other location details, and we only ever publish a smaller, edited copy.
• We don’t use face recognition or any AI on your photos, and we never use them to train or generate anything.

How long we keep it

• Photos we don’t publish are deleted within 90 days. Published photos are kept while they are shown.
• Ratings, review text and private feedback are kept to improve our books and lessons.

To have a photo taken down, reply to our email or write tohello@childhoodbiblestories.com. We remove it from our site, emails and social media and delete every copy we hold within 10 days.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the site and fulfil orders, and only what each one needs:

• Stripe processes payments and collects your name, email, shipping address, phone number and payment details at checkout.
• Lulu prints and ships personalized books and receives your name, shipping address, phone number and the book files, which include the child’s name, dedication and any photo.
• Resend sends our emails.
• Supabase and Vercel store our data and host the site.
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: analytics, described below.
• Amazon: we take part in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link on the site, Amazon sets its own cookies and collects information under its policy; we never see your Amazon purchases.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

The discount wheel

Some visitors are offered a “spin the wheel” discount on a keepsake book. No purchase is needed to spin, and the rules and odds are on the discount wheel rulespage. To stop repeat spins we keep a record of each spin with a random browser ID and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, never the address itself. To claim a code you give us your email address and tick the box to join our email list; we keep the email with the code so each address gets one code. Cookies in your browser remember that you have spun or closed the wheel so we don’t show it again.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. It records pages visited, device type, approximate region and, for shopping, which products were viewed, added to cart and bought. We configure it so that it does not receive names, email addresses or other contact details, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. Google’s privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used, through click and scroll heat maps and session replays. Clarity is set to mask the text you type into forms and other personal details before anything is recorded. Microsoft’s privacy practices are described at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

If you are in the EU, UK, EEA or Switzerland, you see a cookie banner with equal Accept and Decline buttons, and analytics stay off until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics run by default; you can turn them off at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer, and they stop as soon as you decline. Your choice is remembered in your browser and you can change it at any time from that link.

Advertising and retargeting

We do not currently run advertising pixels or retargeting on this site.

We may in future use advertising services such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Ads, Pinterest and TikTok to show our ads to people who have visited this site or started an order, and to measure whether those ads work. These services set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and may match them to an account you hold with them. If we switch any of them on, we will update this policy and the Cookies section, visitors in the EU and UK will be asked for consent first, and a “Your Privacy Choices” link will appear in the footer.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising at any time through your Meta ad settings, Google ad settings, the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative, and by turning on the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we treat as an opt-out of targeted advertising.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage for analytics (see above), to remember your cookie choice and other choices you make on the site (such as a discount-wheel spin), to mark our own test traffic so it is excluded from analytics, and to keep a checkout you started working. We do not set advertising cookies today; if that changes, the Advertising and retargeting section describes what we will do.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Declining analytics cookies does not limit any feature of the site.

Third-Party Services

Our site may contain links to other sites, including Amazon.com. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it for marketing, by emailing hello@childhoodbiblestories.com. We answer within 45 days. If we refuse a request you can reply to appeal and we will review it again.

Residents of states with privacy laws, including Minnesota and California, have these rights by law, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. If we ever share it for targeted advertising, the opt-outs in the Advertising and retargeting section apply and a “Your Privacy Choices” link will be in the footer.

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers to protect your information, and uploaded photos are checked and re-encoded before they are stored. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This version is effective October 14, 2026. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and we update the date at the top whenever the policy materially changes.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
