What this verse means

Jesus said that loving God and loving your neighbor are the two most important things of all. A "neighbor" isn't only the family next door — it's anyone God puts in our path. This verse teaches children to care for others as much as they care for themselves, which is one of the biggest, kindest ideas in the whole Bible.

When to use it: A wonderful page for a lesson on kindness and community, or when helping a child think about others' feelings.

Coloring and memory-verse tips

  • Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors — coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
  • Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
  • Add the child's name and today's date in a corner, then hang the finished page where they'll see the verse each day.
  • Print on cardstock if you plan to use markers, so the colors stay bright and the ink doesn't bleed through.
