What this verse means

Jesus said each of us can be like a little light in the world. When children are kind, honest, and helpful, people notice — and it points them to God. This verse tells a child that even their small good deeds matter and can help someone see how good their Father in heaven is.

When to use it: A great page for a lesson on being a good example, doing kind deeds, or being brave enough to do right when it's hard.

Coloring and memory-verse tips

  • Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors — coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
  • Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
  • Add the child's name and today's date in a corner, then hang the finished page where they'll see the verse each day.
  • Print on cardstock if you plan to use markers, so the colors stay bright and the ink doesn't bleed through.
