What this verse means
"God is love" is one of the shortest and truest sentences in the whole Bible. It doesn't just say that God loves — it says love is who He is, all the way through. For a young child, it's the gentlest first picture of God: not someone far away or hard to please, but the source of every kind, safe, warm feeling they've ever known.
When to use it: A wonderful very-first memory verse for toddlers, and a calming one to color together when a child is learning that God's love never runs out.
Coloring and memory-verse tips
- Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors — coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
- Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
- Add the child's name and today's date in a corner, then hang the finished page where they'll see the verse each day.
