What this verse means
This verse gives children a plain, doable job: be kind, be tender, and forgive. And it tells them why: because that is exactly how God has treated us. Kindness stops being just a rule and becomes a way of passing on the gentleness a child has already received.
When to use it: A good page to color after a squabble with a sibling or friend, or as a lesson on saying sorry and starting again.
Coloring and memory-verse tips
- Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors. Coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
- Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
- Add the child's name and today's date in a corner, then hang the finished page where they'll see the verse each day.
- Print on cardstock if you plan to use markers, so the colors stay bright and the ink doesn't bleed through.
