What this verse means
These are the very first words of the Bible, and they tell children the biggest truth of all: everything begins with God. Before there were stars, oceans, animals, or people, there was God, and He made it all. It's the start of the whole story, and it means the world isn't an accident; it was made on purpose by a loving Maker.
When to use it: The perfect page to open a study of Creation, or to teach a child the very first verse in the Bible.
Coloring and memory-verse tips
- Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors. Coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
- Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
- Add the child's name and today's date in a corner, then hang the finished page where they'll see the verse each day.
- Print on cardstock if you plan to use markers, so the colors stay bright and the ink doesn't bleed through.
