What this verse means
A refuge is a safe place to run to when a storm comes. This verse says God is exactly that, a shelter and a strength, and "a very present help," which means He's not far off but right here whenever trouble shows up. A child can picture running straight to God and finding they're safe.
When to use it: A steadying page during a hard or scary season, or a lesson on running to God as our safe place when trouble comes.
Coloring and memory-verse tips
- Say the verse aloud a phrase at a time while your child colors. Coloring keeps hands busy while the words sink in.
- Let them color the big bubble letters two alternating colors so the verse is easy to read from across the room.
